What We Offer

Our Society offers many opportunities for Members to connect, both face to face and online. Membership is open to anyone, anywhere in the world:

  • You can attend the monthly in-person meetings held at each of our two branches (Dartford and Sevenoaks). Each meeting features a guest speaker, so you will have an opportunity to further your knowledge, chat with fellow enthusiasts and browse the selection of books available for purchase at the meetings. We also offer face-to-face small group discussions in our Society library.
  • Geography is no barrier. Our Society offers many regularly scheduled Zoom-based discussion groups on a wide range of topics. We are fortunate that so many members have volunteered to share their expertise by leading these Zoom discussions.
  • Our website has many Members Only resources, including datasets, recordings of previous talks and access to every issue of our Society journal.
  • Members can also submit their surname, subject and place interests for publication in the journal and/or on the website.

Gift Membership

Are you searching for an unusual present, for a birthday, anniversary or some other special occasion? Why not give your friend or family member a gift of Society membership. Gift membership delivers fully paid membership of the Society until the end of the calendar year, for the same fee as a standard membership.

You as the 'donor' complete a Gift Membership Form and send it to the Membership Secretary with your payment. You can pay by cheque, by postal order or online through either our NWKFHS website shop or through Genfair.

You then receive an Activation Form which you give to the recipient, and a short note explaining how gift membership works. The recipient fills in her/his personal details and returns the form to the Membership Secretary to ‘activate’ the membership. This safeguards their personal details and is used for data protection reasons.

Forms are also available at the Society’s library, branch meetings and events.
